Surrounding Tremolat are areas of outstanding beauty with chateaux, bastides, grottoes, prehistoric sites, caves, routes de vignoble and restaurants for you to visit. There is somewhere to visit every day of your stay.Markets take place throughout the region on a daily basis, selling local produce.
FURTHER AFIELD
The region surrounding Tremolat has an abundance of sites of prehistoric occupation, caves and rock paintings, the Vezere valley is particularly rich in Palaeolithic sites.
To the south Monpazier and the less touristic Monflanquin are two of the better preserved bastides in this region.
Sarlat, to the east, the capital of Perigord Noir, with its market on Saturdays. is well worth a visit.The winding streets and alley-ways will occupy you for most of the day, with a leisurely lunch in one of the many restaurants, an early arrival is recommended.
To the west is Bergerac, the largest nearby town and further on St.Foy la Grande, Castillon-la-Bataille, site of the last battle of the Hundred Years War and St.Emilion are all well worth a visit on a less sunny day.
